while I was painting this a fitting song came to mind "New York is a Woman" by Suzanne Vega "New York is a woman / she'll make you cry / and to her you're just another guy" ..
The woman's face is what one notices first. Then her body, which is assimilated with what seems a cruel and alien world. Her gaze is, honestly, hypnotic. The image is quite organic; especially her lower body and thighs, it seems almost slippery.
Critiques are meant to be suggestions of betterment. But Javelin's image is perfect. It is very haunting. I have knowledge of art I could put forth; bacon, kahlo, haneke. I have examples of art styles, but what's the point.
Her right breast is pointing outwards, like a bullet through the fabric. Her hands on her legs looks like she's sighing, thinking. It's a beautiful image and if anyone wants to ask me about the dA star rating, you're welcome to ask.
i keep coming back to this one because of her face- it has a strange feel to it... i imagine that tim burton would paint like you, but fail miserably in your shadow
